Things To Do
The Saranac River draws paddlers and anglers, with rapids ranging from Class I to Class IV. The New Land Trust preserve spans 287 acres with more than 20 trails and lean-tos. The Saranac River Trail Greenway, planned at 27 miles from Plattsburgh toward Saranac, is partly built, and a Civil War soldiers monument from 1888 stands in Independence Cemetery.
